About us

Framingham Winery

Framingham Winery was founded in 1981 by Wellington engineer Rex Brooke-Taylor, who named it after the small town of "Framingham" near his ancestral home in Norwich, England. The winery currently owns some of New Zealand's oldest Riesling vines and was ranked First Place in New Zealand's winery evaluations in 2018 & 2019. In 1981, Framingham Winery planted its first vines in the Wairau Valley, Marlborough. Since then, it has continuously produced wines while upholding a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. In 2014, its vineyards achieved organic certification, reflecting this philosophy. With these advantages, the winery employs handcrafted winemaking techniques to create multiple award-winning and highly acclaimed wines. Each bottle is labeled with the AMW logo ("Appellation Marlborough Wine"), a rigorous certification requiring: 100% of grape ingredients to originate from Marlborough;Vineyards to practice sustainable viticulture;Wines to be bottled exclusively in New Zealand. This combination of heritage, environmental responsibility, and craftsmanship solidifies Framingham's reputation as a leading producer of premium New World wines.

Wine Regions

Marlborough is the largest and most core wine-producing region in New Zealand. It is the largest grape-growing area in New Zealand, accounting for two-thirds of the entire grape-planting area in the country. The superior climate, outstanding geographical conditions, and excellent winemaking techniques have given rise to unique and high-quality wines here.

Booster Wine Group

Founded in 2019, Booster Wine Group was established through the collaboration of several wineries. Its capability to continue producing world-class wines was further enhanced by the inclusion of Nelson's Mahana Gravity Winery. Louis is one of the pioneers of the Vavas family, which built and planted the first winery and vineyard in Marlborough's Awatere Valley in the 1980s. Following this, the immediate scale-up came with the addition of Waimia Estate, one of Nelson's largest wine producers, which also brought impressive aromatic profiles to the group's portfolio.
The group's agency brand, Greyrock, is dedicated to crafting high-quality New Zealand wines. It uses ripe grapes carefully selected from alluvial gravel vineyards in Hawke's Bay. Greyrock wines are meticulously handcrafted by a team of experienced winemakers, resulting in premium wines with rich flavors and a soft, approachable character.

Wine Regions

Hawke's Bay is one of the renowned wine-producing regions in New Zealand and is hailed as the "Wine Country of New Zealand." It boasts fertile soil and a mild climate. Ample sunshine and relatively low precipitation are conducive to the photosynthesis of grapes, enabling them to accumulate sugars and flavor substances.
